| It is oppressively hotter than hell in Boston and the humidity is awful. The blue sky I can see from my office window is tinted with haze and I don't want to think about going outside for lunch in a few hours.
I somehow survived my first year of graduate school, though I'm more anxious than ever and my RSI has reached new levels of pain. I went camping in Maine with the other graduate students on my floor over the weekend and saw thousands of puffins on an island ten miles offshore. The advisor I was slated to work for next year had a brain tumor, so I'm working for a theorist on determining how the Earth initially melted.
Life goes on, somehow, despite the weather and keyboards.

Watching Ong-bak: The Thai Warrior with Lili and pulling my first academic all-nighter at college instead of being on a hot date with my bed. Granted, this evening's activities aren't due to being disorganized or massive procrastination: I'm observing members of the Koronis family of asteroids for Dr. Steve. (Funny, I'd be working for his dissertation advisor at MIT if I went there for graduate school.)
The asteroid is happily plodding along the sky, I'm becoming slightly more punchy as the hours pass, and I'm only going to get four hours of sleep tonight, tops. I remember waking up while it was still dark out for most of high school, then watching the dawn as I drove in, but this will be one of the few times I've seen the sun rise from the other side of things.
Eighty-one days until commencement. Can you believe that I'm almost out of here? It still doesn't make any sense.

| Just got into MIT again, this time for graduate school :) Much higher chance this time around of my actually attending. UCLA, also! :D
| | |
| Classes start tomorrow and there are approximately 123 days left until graduation. Who's excited? *raises hand*

| For the first time since high school, I have made it through a fall finals period without any trips to the emergency room, high temperatures, staples, or transfer applications.
So close to being a second-semester senior!
See you all in CA...
